the traumas of the technically challenged

I decided to join the 21st century and get a phone that I could check email on. (I know , I know I ended the sentance with a preposition.) After dithering for a year and a half (really.) my husband quizzed me and ordered a phone for me. Then my beloved took three hours out of his life and transferred my addresses onto the new fangled instrument we started to test drive it. Obviously I should have started out on one of those "senior" phones. I can't read it wthout my reading glasses on and I can barely manipulate the screen with my XXL fingertips. I actually have been reading the directions and so far I can take and make a call. I can call up my email but can't actually reply to a message with hitting a wrong spot on the touchpad and causing a garage door to open further down the street. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Luckily other systems are out there to facilitate ease of use more so than our wireless purveyors. My other new-fangled toy is ETSY. A global network of artisans and all of their wares, my new web site can be found at http://theresawellsstifel.etsy.com/ Etsy really shares my esthetic. Handmade and vintage are two concentrations. The only issue I have is that I want to spend more than I list!

I have three Christmas trees in my truck that I have been riding around with since Saturday in the hopes of doing some MORE rearranging in the shop. All of my die-hard customers are telling me to get with the program re the holidays. SO far I have Halloween and Thanksgiving items on display and have resisted Christmas! I did however just get in new collections from S&J and Ting & Pixie, so stop in and see what is new!

Lots of Fireworks at the sale!

Wow! Lots of excitement at the sale on Saturday. I recruited Ashleigh and Bob to help at the shop and it was a good thing. We were busy from when we set up until when we closed shop. Yay! Special thanks the illustrious Messers Collins & Baum for helping up set up and tear down.

I got home and the (Love ya!) got a call from my Ting & Pixie artist. Turned around and met her at the store. Good thing too, Jenn brought in lots of yummy jewelry that would make great gifts.

Then the whole crew went to a neighborhood block party in the afternoon. What a glorious day to be outside with one's friends!

I am here this morning trying to clear out the debris field from the sale. Fascinating how paperwork seems to take more time than actually running the store some days. Enjoy your holiday, if you have one!
